Arrow Used ego or etek

Hey guys, i haven't been on in a while schools been busy, I finally got around to finally looking around to pick up a new marker. Ive been looking at the etek 4 lt.

I'm really liking it however for $500 I feel like I can pick up a used ego.Does anybody know what year they stopped using the qevs in the ego?

Also does anybody know any places to find used paintball marker? Rather not use any buying over forums becuase of bad experiences I've read about and have had some friends go through.

Also if anybody doesnt think I should go the ego or etek route what route shoud I go. My top price is like $500, but if I could spend less the better.

my first question is are you sure you want something made by planet eclipse or even a poppet in general?
my second question is, is this your first gun?
i personally for that price would choose to buy a used ego 9-11 because they are similar and i like how the ego performs to a certain extent. i have a poison ego 11 that is used in most tourneys i play. i think their is alot out there for 500 and i personally would not choose to get a etek new in general but i would most likely find some kind of spool, maybe a macdev droid or a clone would be nice. its all personal decision and do whatever you like.

This will be my second marker and ive been wanting to get a poppit. I have a spool, ion xe. I know the poppits may not be as smooth or as quiet as the spools, but im fine with that, i like a little kick and noise im alrite with for the supposed better reliabilty and effiiency.
By the way love the look of that poison ego color looks pretty cool. Do you know where I could find some used 9-11 egos.? Ebay be my best bet?

you can get a G6R for $500 if you loock for a bit. I just sold mine for that price.

If you can't find a G6R, look into a vice. Miller is going to come in here and **** all over the vice because of the trigger. Let him you can find ones with aftermarket triggers for under $500.

IMO either of those markers > planet eclipse.

Alrite thanks ill look into thoose. I remember always hearing about bob long paintball markers as a kid. What makes bob longs stand out? I heard they are really efficient and smooth. Also hows their reliability?

Admittedly i've never used a vice, but I know it's solid. They very efficient, and well built. If you take care of them, they'll take care of you. Unlike the ego/etek, they're not built for morons and (IMO) shoot MUCH better.

Not just the Vice. EVERY Bob Long marker has a HORRIBLE trigger. Even my Marq's that I love so much.

BTW, you can get a gen1 marq for around $300. While not as efficient as a G6R or Vice, IMO it's smoother shooting, more comfortable in the hands (due to the whole single tube thing), and way better looking. I happen to know of someone who is selling a VERY well taken care of Marq Rapper for $350 that has the supercharger kit (max efficiency), a fantastic Critical trigger, and a Tadao board (hey, it's me!!). It even comes with the pressure tester so that you can easily reset pressures if you messed something up.

Other than being uglier milling and having Macro the Vice is almost identical to the G6R. Feels the same in your hand, and properly set up, shoots the same just not QUITE as efficient.

A marq is another great choice. It's not a stacked tube poppet, but it is a poppet valve design.

Marq > all open bolt twin-tube stacked poppets*

*-IN my opinion.

that's not a bad price for an eg011, but I think the G6R is FAR better.

That's setting as it will ship. Barrel, pressure tester, on/off.

And yes, $600 is a TERRIBLE price for an Ego9. The Ego9's, while they shot nicely (for an Ego), are the worst of the "newer" Egos to buy due to the planks wearing out, and then the ram will basically eat itself.

Marqs will out perform a ego any day. I love bob long guns as a whole they are extremly comfortable and smooth for poppets. My only problem with them was with my infamous 06 intimidator, i needed to get it repaired so after 9 months of trying to contact them i finally get in touch and send it in. Well they "fix" it and send it back. After 3 weeks in mail i finally get it back with a cracked bolt and a fryed board. Other than their customer service bob long makes great guns. I sold the gun with a replacement bolt and a 7th element board a few years ago

PERSONAL PREFERENCE!

i prefer the ego over the g6r (so sue me)
i'm leaning on shooting my vic over my ego on most days (probably a definite once i get a v-com engine)
and hey, i'll never say no to shooting my quest.

my pm8 is collecting dust. i lost the eigen ring after the one i had broke (lurker had shipped me a new one and it got lost in the clutter on my desk) and i've been too lazy to re tune the lpr

but yes. that's robbery for a ego9. they're worth 4bills tops these days

A teammates cousin is selling his 09 for $350 along with a dm6 for $250. Like i said the egos are nice and i own a 2011 and play MOST of my tourneys with a ego. Unless their pump or 3 man i tend to play with my ego or alien
