Well i want your input to help me decide if i should play pump or not. Right now ive done basically only speedball with my imagine. It cost alot to go and i thought pump would be fun. Plus my local field has pump tourneys every once and a while. If i play or have played pump plz put your input. Btw what kind of pump gun should i buy? looking for sumtin under 100. I saw a maverick kit that game wit a maverick, 9oz tank, and a vest with 10 rd tubes that go right onto the gun.
Thanks
Tj
I wouldn't get that for safety reasons. They just had a safety recall. The 12 gram was breaking through the plastic and hitting people lol. There is a thread about it on pbnation.com if you don't believe me.
I recently picked up a PMI Trracer (which is the same as a Maverick) and added some upgrades I had laying around so my current set-up is:
*PMI Trracer
*.45 grip (from a Phantom?)
*Hogue grips
*AIM Uni-Mount
*AIM68 regulator
*15 inch 2 piece barrel (maker unknown)
*Pure Energy Stubby HPA
I played just last week with my Trracer and found it to be a nice way to get into pump. It shot straight, the pump stroke was pretty smooth and the Trracer wasn't overly loud when shot. I'm the third owner (at least) for this Trracer and it shows no signs of falling apart so I guess you could say it's built to last. It's a good marker that can be had for a good price to provide a good game.
Well, the Trracer was made by ACI (the makers of the the Maverick) for PMI so they both were probably produced at the same time starting 12 to 15 years ago.
I went through a pump faze. I would still love to have one. But IDK if I can get the money. You would save alot of money. I'll probably get one this summer.
I have a maverick. I set it up to be vsc and gave it a stock class feed tube. I run it off of a 3.5 ounce co2 tank. I'm going to get a barrel in the future, and also a .45 grip.
Bascially your chepa nelson clones like mavericks, hornets, traccers, hammmer's, etc will be around $60 give or take. They are good on co2 but the reson why I stopped using them is that they are prone to leak and have really bad barrel with horrible accuracy. I switch to sheridans and those are the only kind of guns ill use. Go to mcarterbrown.com and find a sheridan. A pgp will cost you about $60 this time oy year and a hundred in the summer. The better the sheridan the mroe you pay. They can go as much as $700 for certain ones. This time of year is the best tiem to buy. A sheridan will keep up with a phantom and yes ive shot and played with phantoms.
