I keep losing my balls! Got any ideas?

I checked some of the other threads to see if this has been answered before but didn't find anything. I've been playing about eight years and the team just decided to start pumpin so I built a cocker pump and am currently working on a spump. Anyway, after the pump is cycled the detent is no longer functional. If i am on the move and tip my barrel down I will lose my balls and shortly after I lose my life. LOL How do you keep the balls in the barrel on a closed bolt cocker without tapping in another detent farther foward? Bigger balls don't alwats solve the problem.

Spyders are open bolt markers, meaning the bolt is back when it's fired, so the ball is held in place by detent in front of the bolt just underneath the feed.

When the spyder bolt is closed (meaning forward) it covers the detents because as you shoot you no longer need detents.

Spump owners have solved this dilemma by drilling for detents in front of the current detent hole and making an extension for the detent cover. Measure thrice, drill once.

or get a barrel kit, a properly sized insert will keep the ball from rolling out, give you better efficiancy and better accuracy, you would be killing 3 birds with one stone

Thats the nature of pump play. A lot of pumps are this way. their are a few getto mods you can do, but none are needed. Just learn to pump at the right times.
