Tips for the PMI Trracer?

Okay guys, I just bought my PMI Trracer, well... I bought it a week or so ago so...... Anyways, I was just wondering if there are any special care instructions for my soon to be here new marker. As in, is the stock barrel especially tight/loose? Will I need an elbow? (I assume so from the pic) Anything else?

Also, can you mount any stocks on it?

Ok, the PMI Tracer is the same basic gun at the ACI Maverick, correct?
I'm going to assume so, and
say the following:

The stock barrel is fine, though the lack of porting makes it's noise level akin to that of a howitzer. I'd suggest getting a red dot scope. Because of where the tank is, Aiming with the sights is impossible, but you don't need a stock. All you need to do it buy a shoulder cap/butt plate/what ever you call it for your tank. Have fun!

Speaking of the ACI maverick, does anyone know what format the sight rail is in?

I was using some junky old dimpled Diablo Hellfire the day I got it to test shoot it. It came with (lol) some 200 Brass Eagle Paint. I didnt even let the junk get NEAR my gun for fear of the stuff like, psychicly splooging up my gun. I dunno what paint to use with it, I need to know what calibre the barrel is. Anybody have any paint type suggestion?

i thiiiiiiiiiiiiink that marballizers are a nice match for the stock barrel. it seems like different people have very different experiences with their paint. anyway, so purchase marbs at your own risk. i hope this helps.

The barrel seems to be a bit bigger then most, find out what kind of paint is in larger bore, and get some to try.

Also what U will realize pretty well are two things:

1. Standard barrel is not the most accurate...

What I when I had a trracer was to clean and polish EVERYthing on the marker where something would move and then I used turtles hard wax everywhere where something moved (yupp in the parrel as well) this increased the accuracy somewhat. Also I used a few drops of oil on a piece of cloth and smeared the barrel where the pump handle touches and the handle on the in side as well as the Hammer.

2. These Markers are VERY unreliable when it comes to velocity:

Get a anti syphon bottle so at least U dont draw liquid. If you adjust the marker to 270 FPS on gas and a ref chronoes you when drawing liquid Ull be banned from the field faster then U can say Anti-syphon-CO2... I have acctually done this as a ref my self in a tourny when the guy chronoed in at just below 300 and I chronoed at 420 FSP 3 minutes later. Needless to say he wasn't allowed to play on and the team got a massive hmmm... 220 point minus.
Now also use light springs for evrything (hammer and valve) this will ease the pumpaction and thereby increase ROF and accuracy when SLAM firing (Auto trigger).

Mine is one big @$$ bore barrel! You can get a new barrel from j&j while they last or you can leave some paint out in the sun for 2 hrs or if worse comes to worse, get afterburner cuz thats big bore. My gun came with aslip from the factory that told you what big bored paints to try. Ill write them if i can find them. Id go for the barrel. I also put a forgrip over the pump arm. So its a m16 grip over the pump arm. Supposed to go over the barrel but didnt stop me.

Hey, what kind of barrels should I look at. The hellfire is very small, it literally fell out of my barrel when I loaded it in. If any of you knows where to get some ball detents (I saw some for the Phantom but I dont think they are interchangable)

I had a first edition Armson internally rifled with my Trracer but I don't think U can find those any more (11-12 yrs ago) bur go with a J&J or any other decent after market brand. The PMI original SUX and playing pump U need to know where the ball goes when U pull the trigger.

Actually the reason it probably came with Brass Eagle paint is that Brass eagle is large bore paint (most of it, they are a little inconsistant). You might try some VL paint. VL is still kind of big but a little better quality.

You can also paint three lines parallel with the barrel just inside the bore (12 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock). They will serve as detents. Use fingernail polish or some people have said to use tape.

Thays pretty hilarious cuz when i got mine a while ago the shop owner said to put tape in the barrel. But they are a huge bore barrel. I didnt know that and my paint went 6 feet. Had to leave 'em out in the sun for an hour before they worked.
