The Evolution of a Paintball Field

Armotech.us as some of you know is relocating to Texas. On over 120 acres of land, Armotech's field will be the Holy Land of Scenario Paintball. here is the evolution and progression of the land as of yet; beginning with clearing out land, and moving to the present Firebase Alpha.

The Evolution:

The Beginning:

The Culling of debris:
http://www.blackopsarmory.com/tesaxpics2.htm

The Warehouse:
http://www.blackopsarmory.com/texaspics3.htm

The Arrival of the Helicopters:
http://www.blackopsarmory.com/texaspics4.htm

The beginning of Vietnam Firebase Alpha:

http://www.blackopsarmory.com/firebasealpha2.htm

When the entire field is finished it will have a MOUT site, Vietnam Firebase, several Vietnam style Villages, a few Airball fields, and many other castles/bases.

There are going to be a few airball fields put in as well. You just have to do it as a paintball field. The airball fields will be visible from the highway, but far enough away that they will not be able to hit the highway. That highway being Interstate 10.

One of Armotech's longest standing motto's is "More real, More fun". As a company, we believe (yes I said we) that realism is the key to bringing the scenario and rec baller to a whole new level a fun.

After we make the choppers "idiot proof" (that means making it so that no one can hurt themselves) imagine the possibilities scenario wise. A BHD (Black Hawk Down) scenario in out MOUT site (theres going to be chopper in the MOUT site too).

Imagine Capture the flag brought to a whole new level. What Armotech is going to do with this field has never been done before on a paintball field. Imagine being able to call air strikes ONLY when you have control of the airbase. And when you call it, a jet actually flies over the area. Aerial Recon for a certain ammount of points and control of the airbase gets a smaller version of The Predator (used in Iraq and Afghanistan) flies over with a camera, giving the general who called it a real time live feed of the battlefield. This will also be hooked to a website where people outside of the game can see a bird's eye view.

Basically, the choppers are there to bring the rec and scenario baller to a whole new lever a paintball nirvana (the state of being not the band). Look around you, the MilSim market is growing. PMI, JT, they are all jumping into it. Why? Because it works, because it opens doors never thought of in paintball before. These choppers, are one of those doors.

Most of the walls are waist high. Accurate height of sandbag walls. These are concrete because sand bags have a tendency to, well, turn into mud and seem out of the bags. With concrete, it becomes solid wall.

FM794 Exit of Interstate 10. About 12 miles from Gonzales Texas. It's about 130 miles from Houston.

I would relaly suggest making it out of actual concrete. Yes, a bit inaccurate to history, but what's going to happen is its going to rain and the bags are going to ge soggy after a while (maybe not), or at least water will get in it and mix with the concrete a bit (not enough to make it into a legit brick, but it will make it funky.

Then, people are going to shoot them and they are going to rip, people are going to knock them over and they will rip, etc etc, and its going to take a lot of effort to go and fix em.

I'd suggest putting mini trenches behind the perimeter so the defenders have a bit more cover. But again, trenches+ rain = mudpits and errosion.

all in all it looks like a nice field. Just don't forget about speedball.

A field with speedball and woods/scen fields is the best field. I'd much rather go to a field like that (even if prices are a bit highers) then go to an ALL airball field or an ALL woodsball field.

Make it a RAP friendly field too.

The bags being put up are concrete mix. The just add water kind. There has already been alot of rain in the area, and the walls are already solid concrete since they dried. (Concrete mix +lots of water +sun=solid concrete).

Firebase Alpha is not finished. There will be a tower or two, as well a camo netted command posts.

There will be two 10 man airball fields put in BTW.

This field is being worked on to the point where it will be something never seen before in the paintball world. For our MOUT site we had a former MOUT instructor and Company Commander in Vietnam advise on the lay out.

There will be two 10man Airball Fields.
There will be an Airbase.
There will be Vietnam Style Villages
There will be a MOUT site
There will be Helicopters that you can get in (Black Hawk Down anyone?)
There will be Tank Battles.
There will be Tanks on the field to rent.
These tanks will be the BOA4 and the BOA3 (BlackOps Armory's Stryker style tank.) the first commercially produced paintball tank that I know of. They are modeled after the Stryker Assault Vehicle.
The field will be part of the game, not just what you play one.

Fresh news guys:

The MOUT site is being built. Outposk Whiskey form Starship Troopers will be finished by the end of the day.

FIRST GAME TO BE IN JANUARY!!!

Opening game is scheduled for January, precises date to be determined. It is a BlackHawk down Scenario (and yes, we will be using our 2 helicopters in the game)Pacman, from MXS (as in Pacman and Mother the owners and operators of MXS, a nationwide scenario promoter) will be playing the part of the Somali general.

The owner of the field, Jon Harris, will be playing the part of the American general.

The game is scheduled for January. I will update with pictures of completed bases when they come up, and a firm opening date when it is determined.

Pictures:
This was the building of the floors for the MOUT site. This was taken several weeks ago. Most of the floors are in place, half the walls are done. Here is the making of the floors:
http://blackopsarmory.com/moutsite.htm

Outpost Whiskey is an all steel frame. Here is what is was when the frames were laid out in the octogon. THis was also taken a while ago. The base is almost finished and will be done today or tomorrow:
