Well, since it is easy t get lost, i would suggest getting soem of that orange marker tape from wal-mart or somewhere like that. And put it up around an area your going to be playing at. That way, nobody gets outside the boundrys. But other than that, it should be fine to play in. Just make sure there is no hunters or anything out there....

lol k ill think about the markers, the woods isnt as big as it looks on the map for some reason tho lol its jsut easy to get turned around and go south or north instead of the other way, >.< if that makes any sense.

Only bad hting is, how do you woodsball when the trees n plants all bloom or or w/e and u can barely fit into the woods?

Yeah just find an area out of those woods and then put up some boundries and it'll be tight, thats what I didnt with all the woods I have near my house.

If the woods are too thick you may have to do some clearing. Nothing major, just take out some of the small brush. Make it where you can run without tripping or getting smacked in the face.

If you're gonna get lost, or have a chance to, make everyone take a cheap pocket compass. That of course if you can't set up any 'out of bounds' tape or markers. Even with a clear field, it might be good to have.

Here's what we did at our woods course, some of it might give you ideas.

Brush was cleared from 'path' areas. Clumps and patches and strips were left to break it up a little, and to provide soft cover.

Random dead branches were removed from some areas, some of these were broken and cut to form small logs to make some bunkers/walls for cover

Someone gathered a bunch of stones and made a few walls from them.

We took neon spray paint and painted a ring on the trees to mark the edge of the field. We have a rough rectangle/oval shaped field. It was great in the summer because of the plants. We played there once in early winter and it wasn't so great...you could see clean across it with the plants all dead. I plan on building more bunkers from logs to counter this in the coming semester.

You know, on second thought, the spray paint might not be good unless you own the land. Someone might think the trees were marked for logging or some other purpose.

yup, torch brings up some good ideas.

i would grab some bright spray paint, spray some tree's and indicate boundries (make a couple rings around the tree, so its easy to tell which ones are the boundries)

i would also take a some saws or chainsaws and clear the game area, make it good for playing pball. ****if your allowed or want to cut down the tree's in the area
i would make a clear area in the middle to have flags.

and if the terrain doesnt provide a lot of cover, i would nail some partical boards (cheap and can be found at any hardware store) directly to the tree's to hide behind

**edit**. yeah this if its all your land, you shouldnt do anything of the things i suggested if its all public. or if it is public, just dont get caught
