Urban Setting

So in my little town of Bunker Hill, IL we just closed down our old jr high that has been here since 1913. Now the building is just sitting in the middle of town all lonely and stuff. I had this idea that someone should buy it and make it into a urban setting paintball field. It has two stories, plenty of classrooms, a basement, and a gym. There are also three separated buildings from the main building that would make perfect places for a shop and a rental center. Also, there are two fields for a speedball field or two. So what do you think? An urban type setting with plenty of places to hide, and also some tradtitional speedball fields...it would be a lot of fun!

the odds of the town or city approving something such as that is slim to none though.. especially in what is probably considered a "historical building"

If possible, that would be amazing. Make a petition and bring it into your town hall.

still very unlikely.. you can peition all you want, there's always gonna be more support against such a thing from the adults of the jurisdiction that you probably wouldnt get anywhere with it.

im not saying that i wanted to make it this way, i just thought that it would be cool. still, in my opinion i think that if there was enough money (i would know bc it's my town lol) to buy it that they would care less what happened to the building. still i wish something like this could be brought to life around where i live.

theres all kinds of issues when taking a building not meant for paintball and turning it into a paintball facility, one of the worst is drainage, you will have gallons upon gallons of paint being used there and you can not just leave it on the floor or wash it down the drain all day (well i have heard some places you can but generally cities dont like it at all) not to mention if its in the center of the city people WILL complane about the noise, i used to live literally a half mile from a field, it was over a hill from my neighborhood but people complained and they had to shut down, and they really only ran on weekends while the sun was out.

its not going to happen sorry

Plus you have to place netting around the whole thing.

Ok I understand that there is a bunch a crap that has to go thru to openthis place, but here is the thing: I'm not gonna freakin do it! I just thought that it would be cool to have an urban setting for paintball and thought I would ask all the paintball junkies if they thought it was a cool idea too. Don't get me wrong, if I had the money I would def try to open a place like this, but not here in my poor ass little town. Idc care about posts saying that it would be too difficult and too many regulAtions and all this crap, I just want to know if u think it is cool or not and what u would like to see in an urban paintball setting...

Sorry for being a crab just didn't think the post would turn out like this...

try crawling though a vertical hole with a marker in a urban corse

urban corses are fun ill admit, the best ones are custom made for paintball though, the one real nice one i went to is 2 stories of indoor ball, all constructed for paintball (the playing area was about the size of a very large house)

Just for fun, did you inquire what a long-term lease might run...sounds like it could be a pilot program for the nation's school districts to raise extra money. Of course they would then need to spend all that extra money on injury lawsuits that happen on the property....
