Cool Paintball Ref 2nd impression

Well, i'd like to ask for a reffing topic for the home page. But, yesterday i was at the field.I arrived just as a big group was coming. All these baseball teams in my town. I helped with the safety briefing and got my mask and jersey on. Went down to the field. We had a lot of first timers there so i had to answer all the normal questions... "Do these Hurt?" etc. while hearing some stupid comments like "Wow this is just like Call of Duty!" well to cut to the chase, they played speedball, so i just stood near the entrance and exit telling people "Safety on, barrels plugs off". Played a few rounds of that and went to woodsball. So this group of people, there was maybe 15 players, and our woodsball field which is pretty big. So they start out. People on top touching the net and people on bottom in a castle. So the game starts and they fire a few shots. Then they stay still, blind firing down the hill. After maybe 5 minutes, one person moves up 10 feet. Nobody follows him. Then more silence. So eventually people move up and start firing. A few people get out. Later, we had to call the match because it had been going on for so long. I counted 50 minutes of me just standing by the gate, and not being able to see the action. Turns out, the team with the castle didn't leave the castle the whole time. Considering, this was my first official day i didn't get to ref the actual game. But hopefully i will be able to some day. More groups came, same thing happened. Finally, it was time for me to leave. I'm not old enough to work yet, so i don't get officially paid, but the store owner gave me 10 dollars for my efforts.

Good way to get more involved in the sport. Hopefully you get staff prices at the field too if you're only getting $10 per day.
