When you say kits, you mean a kit to make your gun look say like a M4?

Opsgear.com has them, My little brother had a field day there for is 98c. (He loves Scenario/Woodsball)

plastic = lighter than metal

plus it's plenty strong, a lot of military guns are made of mostly plastic (glock 17, g 36...etc.)

opsgear's barrel kit is made of "strong" plastic, one-stop-paintball-shop.com are made of aluminum=light=more durable. I bought a opsgears collapsible stock for $50 , they're garbage, I returned it. They made me pay for shipping AND they charged me a 15% restocking fee.

I'm pretty sure that a real M4 stock has a plastic sliding part.

polymer is a type of plastic, but the stock I bought from opsgear was like toy squirt-gun plastic.
