2 pieces are nice because if you want to change the length of the barrel, all you need to buy is a cheap barrel front and not an entire barrel. Also can be in 2 different colors which a 1 piece cannot. Also, possibley a barrel kit can be made out of the 2 piece. The brand might offer barrel backs with different bore sizes. Plus, the paintball receives less turbulance in a 2 piece. This is because the ball accelerates the first 8 inches of the barrel (the barrel back) and after that, once it enters the barrel front, it will just glide right through since barrel fronts always have really large bore sizes, meaning paintballs barely touch barrel fronts.

Custom Products, Stiffi, Powerlyte, Dye Ultralight, Sly, J&J are all good barrels.

This part is not entirely true. Most 1 piece barrels utelize a stepped bore type of construction, so that even though the back of it is, say, .689, the exit will be .695. Only instead of going from .689 to .695 suddenly after 6-8", it gradually steps up to the larger diameter. This in theory would cause less turbulance than a sudden jump.
However, in practice, paintballs aren't perfect enough to be able to see any difference between a stepped bore and a 2-piece bore.
