So I was checking these tanks out and I was wondering if these weigh a ton and whats the re-hydro date on the tanks. I know that fiber wrapped tanks have a 5 year date, but I heard that steel tanks only have a 3 year re-hydro date. Is this true? I'm looking to get one since the fiber wrapped tanks are too expensive for me and 72ci is the largest steel tank. Help is appreciated. :)

You've got it backwards. Steel tanks have a 5 year hydro. Fiber wrapped are 3 years. Save up for a Fiber wrapped.. It's so much lighter it isn't even funny.

ive got a 72/3000 psi tank its made by PMI for only $125. It isnt really that heavy and it has a 5 year hydro date. Anyone who thinks a tank is heavy needs to work out a little more

Its more complicated then that.

Some steel tanks are 3 and some are 5 year hydros
Some fiber tanks are 3 and some are 5 year hydros.

For the steel tanks, if it says "3HT", then it requires a 3 year hydro. Air American used 3HT steel tanks for the Me'lee system.

For fiber tanks, its more complicated, because some that were 3-year, were later upgraded to 5-year with pressure from the paintball industry.

I'll try to dig up all the information, and make a good sticky for everyone.
