Ok, so i am pretty new to paintball, and have my "noob" marker the tippmann 98C with a flatline barrel. I really am only interested in woodsball and usually just play with several buddies maybe once every month or two.

I've searched and read a lot of your posts on the apex barrel and have come to the consensus that most of you hate it. However, what if one likes the distance and trajectory of the flatline, hates the arc of normal barrels, but wants something that is easily detachable to be cleaned, and is not as picky as the flatline when it comes to paint.

I could care less about the "curving" of the paintballs. All i want is flatline functionality with more ease of use. What do you think of the apex in this case? Yes i know all you experienced ballers recommend CP, Boomstick, etc for barrels, but i really like shooting a flat trajectory.

Go for it man.

The actual mechanism is different. The flatline is curved to make the ball spin. As far as I know the Apex has a little nub that forces the ball into a spin by making it contact the one side of a straight barrel.

Or get a hold of an A5 with a flatline, those come off pretty easy and in my opinion they look sharper than the 98 flatline.
