i have an a5 with an e-grip and after i installed it everything seemed fine, though im not sure how its supposed to work. one quick pull caused one shot, while barely pulling it for a second (not pressing it all the way like the quick pull) caused burst and holding it down partially (again not all the way) caused full auto. however once i attached co2 a quick pull resulted in multiple, lightning fast, deafening shots to be fired off. holding the trigger created a barrage of earsplitting co2 shots that was VERY likely higher than normal a5 bps ratio. does anyone have any ideas what the problem may be?

i took it to my local paintball shop and the mechanic couldnt figure out the problem. the only modifications i have made to the gun that may have something to do with the problem is the double trigger i installed. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Had a similar problem

When I pulled the trigger the gun make a quick triple-burst, but only 1 paintball shot out. Funnier still is that the E-trigger was set to 1 shot semi-auto, but when I pulled and held the trigger it would rattle out a long chain of shots. Just wondering what might help?

The store owner thinks that the rear-bolt would need to be replaced. I think it may be an issue with the E-trigger because it fires three times, but only ejects 1 ball.

the sear should be looked at like kaz said.. the little piece of metal that holds the hammer/striker back.. it'll be at the top of the trigger frame, and you'll see the little groove on the hammer where it's supposed to catch. check the sear and make sure it's a nice clean square cut, with no rounding..

Figured it out...

The double trigger has a metal plate with a spring inside that is supposed to be removed when you install it in the E-grip. Keeping it in will keep the sear from functioning properly. Also make sure that the magnet is in the pocket at the very bottom.

The E-Grip is a different animal. I'm surprised that Tippmann didn't explain this in some kind of manual. Anyways it took me about 3 months changing rear bolts and sear pins until I finally took it to "Pro Edge" in Northwest Houston (shameless Props) and they figured it all out.
