I screwed in the barrel on my maverick, and it threaded in fine. But when I went to unscrew the barrel for cleaning. IT WOULD NOT BUDGE. I am turning it counterclockwise, which I think is what is said to do in manual. I have tried putting it in vice grips and trying to move with pipe wrench. I don't want to go overkill because the barrel and gun have aluminum threads which can rip out if forced to much. Does anyone have a suggestion? Any will be appreciated.

Try removing the pump handle first? Sorry man, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't thread in. I had the problem on my tippy, but that turned out to be I'm an idiot and I forgot the barrel pinch bolt. I know the Maverick doesn't have a pinch bolt. Maybe soak the threads in WD-40, just keep it away from any rubber.

Thanks, I'll have try WD-40. On another note, whenever I load a ball into the chamber, if I tip the gun down it rolls out. Is there a fix for this, or is it just a poor design?

This is off the subject, but I'd definitely recommend taking that ring off the barrel so you can remove the pump arm without removing the barrel first.

Nope just your using paint that is too small.

One trick is to use the Phantom sizer rings, I have not tried this so I am not sure how well it will work.

How do I get the ring off from the barrel; the pump handle wont't come off until the ring is removed first.

Sadly the is under the pump handle so to get it off you have to remove the barrel from the gun.

I got the tools to do it and a spare barrel should it get dammaged so shoot me a PM if your interested

The only barrel I've seen for sale is the Taso Eliminator. What are your thoughts on that? Have you heard of anyone porting the stock barrel? (You seem to be very knowledgable with these markers. Thanks for all the info.)

Hey, I got it fixed. It wasn't crossthreaded, I must have screwed it on too tight though (maybe the metal expanded with temp and jammed together?). But yeah I just took a skinny screwdriver and popped the ring up and slid it and the pump off. Then I was able to get two hands on the barrel to get it undone. Now I've got an O-ring on the barrel.

Also, someone was asking about barrels? I thought I stumbled on a J&J ceramic barrel for the maverick/traccer.

And does anyone know how to adjust the velocity on the maverick? Mine is shooting so fast the paint is spiraling. T
One more thing, my gun is chopping paint about every 8 shots, i am using medium grade paint too.

On the "basic" gun you would have to swap out the drive spring to turn it down, in this regard most "Nelson" spring kits work.

While the ones with the upgraded bolt you would make the adjustments by turning a set screw that is set in the bolt. The only down side is that you need to remove the barrel to make the adjustment if you don't have the adjuster tool for a phantom or a REALY long Allen key

does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do for paint? I keep chopping it. I am using JT Monsoon and JT Hydro paint. I am also using a remote line for more consistent velocity.

I tend to use WGP Weapons Grade or Toxic in my pumps, the balls just fit the barrel a little better

If your chopping paint in a pump then you need to take your time and full pump it and bring the handle fully forward. Cause you might be pinching the paint between the bolt and the breach. Other then that check to see how well the paint fits your barrel and that the barrel is in good shape.
