I just bought the acs bolt from kingman, and it works fine, no chops. But the only drawback is that when it "finds" a chop is uncocks. Has anyone else had this problem? Its not the sear, put the old bolt in, recocks no problem. I guess its cause the bolt doesnt make a full cycle is why it uncocks?

As far as I can tell from testing one, The spring inside the bolt that compresses to prevent chops absorbs the force of the hammer enough that it doesn't open the valve enough to blow back.

Possible counters that I have not tested and will not garuntee to work are...
Lighter valve spring, lighten the hammer drive spring as well if needed.
Lighter or cut ACS spring...Also possible that it will lighten as it 'wears in' from use. Try compressing it by hand a few hundred times?
You can see where I'm going with this. Once again, I haven't tried these but if the problem is what I think it is, they seem like viable options.

I just got off the phone with kingman about this issue. Their techincal support asked me first off if the bolt was one that had "steps" on it, like the stock one looks. I answered yes, he immediately says, send it to kingman and they will issue me another one that is updated, that looks like the jam bolt,(all smooth, no steps),,I asked is that what causes the problem, he says yes, so hopefully the new one will be better, i will post the outcome when the new one arrives. Hope this helps some of yall

Thanks for that info. I guess the first version didn't have all the bugs worked out of it. But than again, I can't see how the stepping would cause the problem. If anything, I would expect the reduced contact area to have less friction and make recocking smoother and easier.

At any rate, I'll talk to my friend about sending their bolt in as well. I imagine that I'll get stuck holding the shipping bill to and from kingman though. =\

Overall though, I would rather have my gun not recock than chop and jam with paint and shell fragments.
