Okay I am looking for a little helpful advice for anyone that has gone through the permitting process for opening a paintball field. Given, a couple of the situations below might be fairly unique. Here is what I am facing with the county planning department. They are saying that if I open the field these things might occur...

1. The roadway may be deemed too busy with the extra traffic the field causes and I may have to pay to have a turn lane installed. (This is absolutely insane due to the fact that it will only increase traffic by maybe 10-15 cars on a weekend, it is a small speedball course that will not accomodate that many. Also, the friggin Buddhist temple down the street gets like 200 cars at a time there and they don't have a dang turn lane!)

2. The guests will have to drive their cars over a pipeline (irrigation) and therefore I might have to pay to have the pipeline reinforced. (Again this is ridiculous, this is a farm and 20ton trucks have driven over it 100's of times.)

3. If the county does not have a planned pre-engineered for a 12' fence, I will have to pay an engineer to design it.

So how can I reply to these issues in a tactful way that will make sense....any suggestions?

claim that forcing u to pay would be showing favortism to the buddist, have them chip in (preferably more since u only bring in a small amount)

i believe u could have a inspector declare it safe for car use, present it to the council. Should shut them up.

3. If the county does not have a planned pre-engineered for a 12' fence, I will have to pay an engineer to design it.well, a fence would keep things safe
here ya go.

Well do you even have to? from what I see your saying these things MIGHT get in the way, so tell the county ok those things might get in the way and if they do ill pay, and then do your field, since you know they wont happen you wont have to pay.

the only thing i would do would be to buy the fence b/c that could prevent lawsuits and such. then as stated above hire an inspector to check the road and finally tell them the Buddists have to pay if u have too

lol...the fence is a given, I just didn't know I had to get an engineer to have a design if the county doesn't have one...I mean for goodness sake I can build a friggen fence. The rest is ridiculous and really ticks me off with the crap you have to deal with.
