So I have had a bunch of meetings with the branches of the armed forces. The marines are telling me I can fly with them in there helochopter crews. But with that I have to waste some of my youth going to school. I had a long talk with a green beret and I have always been very interested in there training and skills. I then went and talked to my recruiter and he told me with my pt and asvab scores I would be able to go straight through airborne training then either go into sf training with the special forces or go into rangers training. Im very excited and am hoping my recruiter will do some more work for me and lock that all in place.

My buddy who's a ranger paratrooper told me that if I were to ever join to join the special forces, so I figure I'll tell you to aim for the special forces. Also, do something you think you wouldn't mind doing for a couple years. And make sure whatever the recruiter tells you ends up in the contract.

I know all that. My grandfather was in the military then my uncle was sf medic in desert storm and somalia and my dad flew in vietnam. I know a fair share of how to work recruiters. My uncle has shared alot about the green berets and god if I could become a ranger then I would be very happy. I placed an 89 on the asvab whicn is pretty good. And all rangers are paratrooper becuase if I remember right they all go through airborne training.

Darn you, I only got an 88 on the asvab military entrance score. What was your military careers score? I got a 6, and I am pretty sure that the most you can get is 7, and that it is almost impossible to get that.

I am also thinking about going into a military career, but I am unsure of what I want to do yet.

yea man sgt fowler from spencers cool about this stuff. They are looking for alot of guys to fill spots and are offering pretty heavy bonuses talking like a 10grand sign on. I talked to my mom tonight after she got home and was talking about sf training. She says my uncle aka her brother was in delta forces and only said he was a sf medic. That he was like a lt. kernel or something. Im gonna call him tomorow and see but it would be pretty cool if true. She says hes not aloud to talk about it much but might be able to seeing im joining.

Thats sweet man. I would have to say a job in SF would have to be one of the most exciting/fufilling out there. Training is a ***** though. I read a book by the co-founder of Delta Force and...wow...the training/selection process is intense.

good luck!

come on!! This is sad, fecking loners thread!!
well well, look where this is coming from. a damn brit. you must have no spirit for your country, or else you'd know to respect anyone in the armed forces. of course then again you're probably too out of shape to even join up, so that doesn't matter. also, don't call us "fecking loners" seeing as we bailed your asses out of WWII. stupid ungrateful assholes.

I just seperated from the Airforce on the 7 of April. I was attatched to the 66trs 336TRG at Fairchild AFB WA. I taught advanced Combat Survival to fighter pilots and special forces.

Don't fly helos, those things are death traps.

Go Marines. The general Army are not fighters unless you get in a SF MOS regiment which is not guarenteed.
