having a little trouble with my proto slg 09
the asa is wobbly.
it is moving side to side, not sliding down the bottom of the grip, so i don't think that the problem is that it is not tight enough.
any advise on what to do
and don't say that i shouldn't have gotten an slg, i have already heard that enough

I don't think any one here will say that. :tup

Does the ASA have screws on the bottom or is it rail mounted?
If rail mounted, is the rail part of the frame?
If yes, open the grip and look at the bottom of the inside of the frame, there should be a hole or two. Inside one (or possibly both) if those holes is a set screw, apply a little blue loctite to the threads and tighten it. Let the loctite dry for a couple hours before you monkey with it.

you have to open up the grip to screw in the asa. I think it might just have something to do with the slg having a **** asa. I will look into the screws though and follow the advise

Not that difficult to do. If you have to, just go to Ace and pick up another set screw.

And yes, the 09 SLG has a lot of problems. My brothers has had so many problems. Couldn't even make it through one day of play.

possible solution for you

Hi there, i'm new to the forum but i saw your question and i had the same problem my self as did most the guys on my team that own proto's. the best suggestion i can give you is get a drop forward for the gun. it hasn't wobbled since and has improved my comfort while playing. and as far as all the bad mouthing goes... I LOVE MY SLG!!!!!!!

thank you- is there a drop forward you would recommend?
(also this has been my only problem with the slg that hasn't been by fault, it doesn't deserve all the beating it gets

I'm using a CP model with an on/off knob you will also need to go the hardware store and pick up some slightly longer bolts, bring one of the old ones for thread referance. also, don't be alarmed if it doesn't "slide" into the groove where the old ASA was, it just won't fit hense the longer bolts but it's not a bad idea to put a little loc-tite on the treads for extra securing but it isn't required. that should solve your ASA problems. at some point you may want to get a barrel kit for it as well...just a suggestion

Just to give you a bit of advice, ignore what people say. There is always haters and ignorant people everywhere. All guns offer about the same thing. To me comfort during game is the main thing and SLG gives you that. thumup: Great choice of gun btw.

1. If you've noticed, no one in this thread said to get rid of the SLG and get a different marker
2. We're not saying the SLG is bad, just overpriced; not worth it's $200 price tag
3. This thread is old as hell
