no, some feed through the top, but the side feed is better, it's something called a cyclone feed, so every time you shoot it spins loading another ball, plus it allows you to look down your barrel and use a sight

yes, they are very reliable, durable, and customizable.. however if you plan on playing speedball, air ball, or anything besides woodsball, it isn't the BEST gun you can get. the VS1 and VS2 are both GREAT choices as starter guns, now they aren't as durable as the tippmann but as long as you aren't throwing your gun down a cliff, swimming with it, or anything extreme like that you won't break it to the point you have to replace major parts..

I disagree. the top fed hoppers are better because they can work on anything and not just your tippman. The cycle feeds will loose vaue if you evre want to sell your tippman and then you'll be stuck with a depreciated marker and hopper as well as needing to buy another expensive hopper for your new marker.

well, i can understand where you are coming from, but i still think buying a 98c with a cyclone feed is better than buying one without, but i do agree with you that if you ALREADY have a 98c buying a cyclone is a waste, but in that same concept i think buying a 98c is a waste altogether when you can get a cheaper gun that is better and works in both airball AND woodsball, when tippmanns don't work very well in airball.. in fact, the only reason why i could see someone choosing a tippman over somethign like a VS, Promaster, or an ion is the looks, all 3 of those are cheaper and perform better, IMO..

no, you have a choice, you can get the cyclone feed which connects to a rod on the tippmann which causes a paddle to spin every time you shoot that loads another ball into the breach, which is actually quite efficient,

but you can also buy a motorized hopper which basically does the same thing except it only connects to the tippmann on the feedneck and has it's own motor and place to put batteries..

in the long run the motorized hopper in the best because you can use it on basically every single marker made whereas if you buy a cyclone you can only use it on tippmanns
