rifling breaks balls
rifling doesn't break balls.

However, rifled barrels don't have any positive effect. Somebody who knows physics correct me, but I believe some guy proved that a paintball must spin at like 30,000 rpm laterally in order to have a noticeable difference in distance and accuracy.

i dunno about 30,0000 rpm but i do know i'd stick with teh barrel you have. at 16 inches it's a tad long but i own a 16 inch (cuz they were out of 14 and i wanted a barrel fast) and i haven't had any problems with it being too long.
