hello all, new member and new to paintball also. wave:
don't worry i use the search button and actually read the newb FAQS, most of them anyways.

Will the BT model 98 3-piece vertical bottle adapter work with the 98c platinum?
the part can easily be found at action village or amazon if you need to see what it looks like.

i already tried searching for the answer but nothing came up. i assume yes, since no one seems to have posted a problem with this issue. i do know that some 98 and 98c upgrades don't work with the new platinum series markers and i just want to make sure. i already opened up my marker and there physically is a groove where it looks like this piece will fit. the only problem i can see is if the BT adapter doesn't work with the power tube(<correct name?)or if it physically won't fit.

i plan on adding a x chamber my friend has from his old tippman 98 to my 98c platinum. so this piece and a 6" line would be all i need, right?

sorry if this is a noob question but i'm just trying to avoid shipping and restocking fees and the hassle associated with all of that. i buy my stuff from actionvillage since i can't find a paintball store near me.

i searched "vertical adapter" on the tippmann website forum and found out that an older 98c vertical adapter only works in a 98c platinum series with modification.

You have to buy a new valve with the 1/8 treads on it and cut the plastic tab on your ps power tube so the valve fits. apparently the threads from older 98c and newer 98c ps are different. Then you can add the older vertical adapter kit after you bend it to fit.

or you might be able to take out the valve from an old 98C, cut off the response trigger tube then sand it down. but the older vertical adapter still needs to be bent to fit.

just to clarify, by older vertical adapter kit i mean the one that makes expansion chambers and regulators part of the front grip. the 98c ps expansion chamber kit, with new vertical adapter included, from tippmann attaches them right in front of the trigger. it looks weird in my opinion because it looks like a third grip and it sticks out lower than the front and rear grip.

feel free correct me if i'm wrong about anything this is all new to me and i want to have correct information for others who have the same question.
