I can't vote yet, but I'd have a hard time deciding if I could. All the candidates for governer in Massachusetts seem like phony scumbags.

How about your state?

Same.

Most people are sick of Blagojevich, and yet, they're reluctant to elect Topinka.

Personally, I'd vote for Topinka. But Blago will almost certainly get another term.

Oh yeah, and Barack Obama seems to be more important than anything else these days; even though he's not even up for election this year...

You can't judge a politician based on his campaign. The best way to judge a politician is to read about his stance, look over his voting record, and ask him questions.

To say that all politicians are scum is just an unfair judgment. Many of them genuinely care about their city/state/country.

well i hope i dont get flamed too bad for saying this, but w/e its my opinion

when you vote for someone, you are not voting for that person. Like when good ole fox news won W the 2004 election by telling everyone john kerry is a "flip flop", it doesnt matter. Your not voting for that specific person as much as your giving that political party power. Thats how i see it.

And i have noticed over the past 6 years political power has heavily shifted to the republican party, and at the same time national social issues, national economical issues, and basically all international situations have gone to hell since then.

So when i vote, i vote for a change, and i vote straight democrat, regardless of who it is.

We have a flip-flopping movie star and a even bigger dumbass running against him.

For Senate, Dick Mountjoy is down like 30 to 60 in polls.

Really? They promise anything and say everything to get you to vote for them, then when they're in office they dont have to stay true to their word. Are you going to tell me that they're honest?

The truth is, there are social classes. The higher classes have more power, and the lower classes can't do anything about it. In a federal government, this is especially true. Its simply too big a nation to govern otherwise.

Why does it seem like all candidates running for office live in mansions and are millionaires?

Answer: Becuase they do, and they are.

They can say whatever the **** they want before november, but come january, its all up to what they consider 'right and wrong'.

Alpha, who would you chose for MA? I think Healy really has no background besides the fact that she was the Lt Governer. I'd also rather have a democrat in the office, Deval Patrick seems like a people kinda guy.. idc I'm pretty naive in politics, but I'd vote for Patrick

Republicans make bad presidents, but good congressman when there is a democrat for president.

Visa versa most the time too.

however, republicans have an AWESOME record as being state governors.

So, here in Minnesota, I would vote

Democrat house

Democrat senate

Republican Governor.

Its simply record.

I have legal residence in Michigan, but I havn't lived there since I was 9, so I really wouldn't know who to vote for, and can't vote where I live now (Texas). I'm not too dissapointed, really all it comes down to is picking the guy thats less of an a-hole.

The races in Clay co are going to be pretty heated. We have had a sheriff for as long as I can remember *cough*corrupt*cough*. And a new guy who is a friend of mine beat him out to be on the ticket. So the old sheriff is going for the write in and he could actually win. Which would be bad news, and if he loses, we will have 2 months of hell until hes out of office in january.

Let me tell about the life lesson I've learned called, "Not voting for either major political party because they don't support democracy."

Always vote for the little guys.

This year, I'm voting Socialist Workers Party =D

Its so ignorant to vote based on parties alone. Sure certain aspects of America may have gone to hell in the time Bush has been president, but before that I don't remember anyone flying a plane into two of our largest buildings here in America and killing thousands of people. Do you?
