My brass fitting is so rusted the metal gas line is twisted from me trying to get it off, so heres my soultion.....will it work?

Im going to buy a normal fuel filter, cut off the tube that snaps onto the gas coming from the tank, attach it to the line, clamp a tube from there to another fuel filter with both male ends. Then on the other side of the filter where it flows to cut the pipe, attach tube, clamp well.

Will that work? Or would the beginning **** it all up? Because the filter I need with the male end doesnt have the clip that attaches to the gas line. Heres a pic to better explain of what its gunna look like:

now when you say tube, u mean rubber hose?

bad idea, your fuel system (for some reason i remember you having a camaro) runs somewhere from 40-60psi, and rubber fuel line is designed for more like 10psi. and plus if u have a camaro then i think ur fuel filter is down by the left rear tire, so it will get alot of crap on it and it will rot away quick. Also the type of fuel filter your talking about to replace your current one is not for fuel injection, its for the good ole 6psi of a carburetor

if u cant get a new line, a compression union fitting is your fix, i'll try to find a link

EDIT:
http://www.doityourself.com/icat/brcompressunion

two of those in the correct diameter (to replace the clamps in your fix) , and like..... 2 5" pieces of correct fuel line (to replace the tubes in your design of a fix) with correct flares and fittings, basically buy a 10" line and cut it in half.

that would be a professional job

there is rubber hose out there that can handle the psi of ur fuel injection, but ive never seen it in stores
