I think some of the pop-up blockers actually create more pop-ups. Just my theory.

A lot of pop-up blockers that you download from sites are viruses and do infact give you more pop-ups. So my suggestion:
-buy the latest Norton Doctor

it blocks all spam and pop-ups while fixing your comp.

the spyware program removes the programs that were installed when you agreed to the EULA. You know that big long document you have to click "I Agree" to? Well in there somewhere it says that you agree to let the program install spyware to track your activities on the net, and pop-up ads to sell you stuff according to where you go. Use a spyware remover program and delete Kazaa or anything else like that.

go to Start>Run...
Type in "msconfig"
Go to the "StartUp" tab
uncheck all the boxes of things that don't seem right to you... and also a good program for blocking pop-up ads... Go to google and search for Pop-oops

My uncle has (had) a computer in his loft, and one time it was really laggy, so he got pissed off. And he threw it over the balcony, and it fell like 12 feet, and broke. Pretty funny. Just thought I'd share with you.
