Is there any advantage/disadvantage to having a two piece barrel on your gun? (other than the chance that there will be a seam in the barrel which could mess up your paint.) I'm not talking about barrel kits, I mean like that cp 2 piece sniper barrel or whatever it is. I've even seen three piece barrels, again not kits, just one barrel. Why waste time dividing the barrel into sections when it could be done faster with one piece? Also is there any way different guns could be affected by different barrels? Iono just wondering...

unfortunately not many of the really knowledgeable people with 2,000+ posts bother to scroll down this far to these forums. instead of making a new thread it would be better to revive a sticky... wouldnt it? well if anyone ever gets this far and knows something about two and three piece barrels, please explain it to me because im kinda sitting in the dark.

"The idea behind using two materials in constructing the two-piece barrel is to give the paintball the advantage of lower friction upon initial acceleration by using stainless steel and then using a ported aluminum tip to decrease the overall weight and muffle the guns sound output."

Got that from the link at the top of the page.

oh... but what happens when the whole two piece barrel is made of aluminum like mine, what is the point of that? not all two piece barrels are made of two materials... they just have two pieces. thats why i was wondering what they do that for.

Some two piece barrels have different bore sizes. This way you can change the back part so you can have a better paint to barrel match.

I know what you mean, for example the 2002 SP All American..I guess the main reason was in case you want a longer/shorter barrel later on you only hafta buy a tip instead of a whole new barrel but there could be other reasons too. As for affecting accuracy I really doubt it does because I compared my 2001 All American with my 2002 and there really wasn't a difference between the 2 other than one is a 2-piece and the other was a 1-piece.
