If I try to pull the bullet out of the shell with my hands, there's no chance it's going to fire in my hands right? Or if I pullet it out with pliers? (the lead part I would pinch with the pliers..)

I'd tell you to hit the back of it really hard with a hammer, but I don't want to be responsible for your death if you actually did do it.

As long as your not doing this near a match, or some other source, no. And gun powder itself only explodes in confined area's, as with most flamable materials. Once you get the actual bullet out, you'll be fine. Gun powder does burn very well though.

In reality, you can toss a shell as is into a fire and you'll be fine. However, I only do this with .22's, as I dont trust it that much. A bullet wont go anywhere unless it is held in place, otherwise you just get a nice loud pop and the bullet and the shell casing will only be a few inches away, no harm done. Like I said though, I dont trust that enough to try it with anything bigger than a .22, but it's always fun to scare friends with.

You should be fine just discharge any static electricity you may have built up and make sure theres no open flames.

As to the tossing loaded rounds into a fire I wouldn't do it, 22lr or not. A friend of mine ended up with a 22lr slug in his leg doing that once. Primer caps, blanks, or rounds with no slug would be ok in a bon fire but still becarefull doing that kinda of stuff.

Edit:

Just watched the vid and thats pretty much what blanks are.

i also wouldn't suggest doing the exploding shells thing. some like this could happen to you...and then you'd have to tell everybody how you were doing something stupid and got a 22 shell lodged in you cheek

Go to Home Depot, look in the nail gun aisle, and they have crimp cartridges (in all different calibers) for driving nails.

Easier and safer.

I pulled the slug out of a non hollow pointed bullet...

Can I also pull them out of hollow heads? Y/N?
Hollow points are legal there?

Wow, thats exactly what I thought you might look like. Without the 22 shell of course.

Snottsdale/PV? Hell no, nothing's legal here.

Indian Reservation? Hell yeah, anything's legal there.
lol exactly. We live in a small town here in Yelm, and we're right next to an indian reservation, and all they have on it is houses, and a nice casino, and a shell station/cigarette store mix. Around early june they build these little huts or some crap in a lot across the street from the casino and there's like 40-50 firework stands, and they stay out there till mid july. I guess that's how they all make their dough.

those have little plastic tips in them, don't know how safe those would be to use for this kinda thing.
unless they have changes from the last time i have seen them or i dont remember what they really look then i dont know of this plastic you are talking about

other then the plastic that holds them together and i seem to recall being able to push them out will little effort.
