Ok, well I bought a silver 98 custom off of my buddy. It started crapping up on me (not recocking, lobbing ball out to a max of ten feet). So I took it apart andcouldn't figure anything out to do, so I put it back together and now the cocking bolt won't stay when I cock it back. I tried looking at some schematics, but none of them are the same design as my gun. Can anyone help me out here?
Thanks, Zach

Tippmann's website should have a manual in PDF form that you can download with maintinance instructions in it.

After you put it together and it still doesn't hold the hammer back, than something with your sear isn't working right.

And if it does hold back and it still won't recock, than try putting some oil down your ASA and shooting it a couple times

Thank you. About a half hour after I posted I fixed it. It put the sear in the wrong pin and the spring came undone. Thanks again.

Ok, now I'm confused. I thought I fixed the gun because after I put it together I shot it without the barrel and itshot fine. It was too dark to see the paintball put I knew they were going fast. Then today, I screwed the barrel in and it did the lob shot on me again. After I unscrewed it the gun would shot well. I screwed the barrel in a little and the paint flew farther. I screwed it in the whole way and another lob. Does anybody have an idea of what is wrong?

my buddy had that happen to his 98c and it was cuz he unscrewed the screws on the right side of the body that holds the tube inside...and if you do that you have to screw them back in farely tight with some teflon tape or somethin that will hold them in tight
