Do either of you guys teach a history course at PSU?

I just went and got my books for the semester ($500 well spent:rolleyes: ) Anyway, I'm taking a history class and this is the required readings:

Voltaire (Candide)
Nietzsche (Thus Spoke Zarathustra)
Marx/Engels (The Communist Manifesto)

It seemed like it's right up your guys alley.:)

Have you read them before?

I've read 2/3 of them.

The one I haven't read:
Nietzsche (Thus Spoke Zarathustra)

And I think Andrew actually knows Karl so he could prolly hook you up with a very indepth summary of the CF.

I've read excerpts, but I don't believe I've read the completed works. I could have though, I forget what I had for breakfast, never mind what I read over the past six years or so.

I don't teach at PSU no, but I think Andrew does.
I've read them all. Well, most of Zarathustra. I don't own Thus Spoke Zarathustra, I borrowed it from the library, but I own Candide, a book of Nietzsche's basic writings, and I have a book that has the Manifesto in it.

I gave my Communist Manifesto away to some kid who asked me questions about communism and socialism, along with some essays I had and a book on communism.

Oh, and Wes, Nietzsche is the guy who said "God is dead" and is the father of atheistic existentialism. I don't know if he'd be up your ally with you being religious and all, but it's worth a try. It's good to know both sides.

You know, I've wanted to. I czeched out On Being and Nothingness, but it was way too big and it looked like a technical manual. I may get a book of some of his essays though, because he sounds super cool. A French resistance fighter and socialist AND an existentialist? Sweet.

You know for sure that I love both sides of the story. I'm no where near being a traditional christian if anyone would know that I think you would be one of them that would.
