Of all the people who threatened to leave the country if Bush was reelected, I wonder how many of them will actually do it. My guess is zero. ****in' liars.

I read in the paper that the Canadian Immigration department has had a record number of requests from Americans who want to move to Canada.

So... there is at least *some* Americans who prefer socialism over democracy.

But... as far as "famous people" who make those silly threats. Well, the only one I can think of is Johnny Depp. He moved to France, but all the other nuts (ie Baldwins) are still here.

I think Rosie O'Donnel was one of the nuts that made that threat. I wish she would get the hell out of this country.

I heard that it will take approximately 6 months before the Canadian Government will know how many people are actually going to migrate across the border. That's just crazy. Even if Kerry had won I wouldn't have moved to Canada or any other country. I love America and I would still have faith in the Democratic system.

Even if Kerry did win, we still have a republican biased senate and congress.

Nader should have won.

Pssh.. I think a lot of democrats are more like the kind of kids you go up against when you have to do a debate in history class.

There are the kids who see things for what they are, present facts, and leave it at that.

Then there are the kids who have the idea that if they yell louder over hte other person talking, they'll win (dems).

But thats just me...

I know for a fact that I will not be living in the United States of Amerika for my whole life because the policy is influenced far too much by rednecks. No offense to rednecks of course.

And in anycase...... If we call socialism the form of government that leads from Capitalism to communism, and communism is the truest form of democracy (read Communist theory books if you want to learn more about this concept) then isn't Canada more democratic then the Republic in which most of us live in on this forum?

You are making in incorrect assumptions about communisim and socialism.

The move from a republic to communism involves LESS democracy. The reason is simple. Government grows LARGER, and rights for citizens grows SMALLER.

But, you are correct in that TRUE communism would be a pure democracy. In theory, with Communism, the government grows so large that it eventually includes EVERY person, and every person has equal rights and control over there destiny.
But this has NEVER HAPPENED, and NEVER WILL HAPPEN for a variety of reasons. ONE: You end up with the "3 wolfs and 1 sheep voting on dinner" scenerio, and TWO: Corruption destroys the system.

Ah the beautiful Mr. Lovecraft :)

So are you saying that socialism is less democratic then the United States republic. The way I've learned it is, when you begin to give more power to the most numerous class i.e. the working class, you have more democracy because rather then having one man make decisions for many, many men make decisions for themselves.

And as for the "This will never happen" bit, hey nostradamus, a gypsy told me to ask you for her crystal ball back. You can think about the future, but trying to predict it is a bit rougher.
