My uncle always taught me that if you do a good deed for a stranger, it will come back to you. Tell them

"Look, I'm going to give you x. I dont want any money or anythign in return. All I ask is that when you find someone thats in a situation like you are in now, help them out. If everyone does this, it will come back to them, maybe more then once."

My uncle says that a lot.. He is a boat captain in Boston Harbor shuttling people back and fourth through the southern islands. One day he found someone waiting on the dock, in pouring rain. She and her family had only light clothes and were out of food from camping on the islands. My uncle asked them what they were doing, and she said she missed the boat and was waiting for the next one (which was coming in a few hours). He told her to get on board and he'd go out of his way to drop her off where she wanted to go. She tried to offer her money but he said "I dont want your money. All I ask is that when your in my shoes and find someone in your situation, help them out, because it will come back to you."

My uncle tells this story to this day, and one time he was hooking my aunt up with a trip to las vegas (she has a bad kind of cerebral paulsy[sp] so she has to use a wheelchair, and has a speech impediment so she needs to use a computer to talk. She types in what she needs to say and it comes out.) My uncle waso n the phone with a lady from teh Circus Circus hotel, and she asked where he lived.

Uncle: Quincy, Massachusetts
Lady: Yeah? I used to live there.. Ever go to the Boston Harbor Islands?
Uncle: Yeah, all the time.. Ever been on a small white boat with a blue bow?
Lady: Yes, as a matter of fact I have. (she tells story)
Uncle: WEll, I'm that captain.. Do you remember what I told you?
Lady: Yeah! Me and my husband teach that to my kids all the time OMG!
Ucnle: Well, my sister is handicapped, and I'm taking her to Las Vegas for a while. Is there any way you can bump us up to something more spacious, or accessable from the elevators from a wheelchair?
Lady: I'll see what I can do.

The end result: My aunt stayed in the Presidential Suite in Circus Circus. And its all becuase of a 20 minute boat ride my uncle gave someone in the rain 15 years ago.

This is no chain letter story that I copied and pasted. That is really Alpha's Uncle and the boat runs to this day (We run out of Hull at 10, 1 and 3, I work on the snack bar at georges island, look for the ice cream boy and tlel him your from PBF sometime).

What I'm trying to get at is this.. Paintball is a sport that many things can go wrong. Your gun can break, you can lose something, you can forget something. Blow O-rings, break hoppers, run out of batteries, you name it.

If you see someone in need, instead of laughing and calling them a nub for doign what they did, go over and help them, adn tell them what I told you.

Call me now! -Ms.Alpha.

Actuallu, thats a good story. Its true, I help out friends, give them good deals on old stuff of mine, and tell them to return the fravor. Afterall, I am a friend who cut the a deal right. And I quote, "I don't care if you are my friend amd was nice to me and gave me something cheap, I dont care, friendships dont matter, I want my money, that was your fault. Life and most kids a *****es arn't they?

I smell exaggeration. My mom works at Monte Carlo and there is NO way that a person that works at the counter and gives people rooms have the ability to simply hook anyone up with a $2K per night room because he/she likes the person. If the counter lady made that mistake on purpose, the cost of the room will be taken out of her paycheck. They don't give high roller rooms to "nice" people. They give it to rich people. The only way that was possible was if your uncle talked to the director of operations (or someone high up in the chain).

Maybe it's your uncle exaggerating, but Las Vegas is not as "lucky" as you think it is.

nice story though :)

ITs no exaggeration. I saw the pictures. I could try to get one and upload it. I'm not BSing you. IT wasn't just some lady at the counter. IT was someone booking a reservation. They probably have a room full of people just answering phone calls for the casino.

How do you know her husband wasn't the owner or the casino or the DOP? No exaggeration here, and even if it was, the moral of the story is true. And its all right there.

For the most part paintballers are good to each other. I love the scenario scene, and I’ve never seen anyone laugh at a new player or put them down in any way. Well, besides the little kids when they jump all over you and make up stories, but typically just nod and smile, makes them feel good. Anyway! I’ve seen people lend total strangers a backup marker, or give them paint when they run out. Paintball is a very caring sport believe it or not.

Now if only we could get that to transfer to the internet ;)

If anyone doesn't believe me, come on down to Hingham to HEWETS COVE where the Big commuter boats leave. Get on the Irene and ask the captain. It leaves there at 9:15 adn returns around 6.

Or, you can go to Quincy, and go to where the USS Salem is, but instead of getting on the SAlem, there is a commuter boat stationwhere you can get a ticket and go to Georges Island. From there, get off at Georges and wait on the big pier for the Irene to come in. ASk the Captain.

Or, you can go to Hull. Go To Pemberton Pier (near the Highschool and the windmill) and stand at the bottom of the dock and wait for the Irene to come in. 10, 1 and 3 is the schedule. They might stop off at around 5:20-5:30 to drop off people or the lifeguard who's always late. Ask the captain. Or look for some kid standing to teh right of the helm. Thats me.
