Hi there!

I'm pretty new to paintball, and during my quest for glory Ive been trying to gather as much knowledge not only about the products, but also about the techologies and their strenghts and weaknesses.

In that regard I have some question about hoppers. If I understand it correctly, the electronic hoppers use signalling from the marker to tell when to push a ball into the markers chamber. How does it do that? Is it a pulse, maybe an electronic sensor that detects a ball being fired? Or is it just force-feeding it regardless?

From all Ive read, the choices of highend hoppers (which are still pretty cheap) boil down to The Halo B and the ViewLoader eVLution II w. Y-Board. Is simply the more expensive unit the best, or will choice of application vary with choice of marker? I have no problems with getting the Halo B, if that really is the best hopper. A good quality hopper can be used on a diffrent gun later on...

The Halo B is the best. The velocity is coming out, and it uses a very similar design to the halo. Both are very fast. As far as evolution IIs they are slow compared to a halo (especially w/ y-board)

High end hoppers use eyes similar to ACE/PDS/Vision systems pb guns use. Also, a intellifeed system exists. Where a cable runs from the gun (and is actually pluged into the board) to the board of the hopper. I think only angels support this though. Also hoppers like the Empire halo B use vibration and/or sound to activate the hopper.

go halo B, don't go back.

Yes, the Halo B is one of , if not the best loaders on the market. It is very fast. And like they said before me, there are multiple ways a hopper knows when to agitate. Some hoppers actually do force feed regardless of whether there are balls being fired or not.. (ricochet Rhino, for example) and they arent good. I would say that the general rule for buying hoppers is that the more expensive ones are usually the best..usually.......

Okey :) Thanks a lot guys - the Halo B it is :)

Is the Halo hard to set up for first time use? I tried getting the manuals off their site, but that didn't seem to work. Do any of you guys have em?

I personally like the reloader b better. When you compare it with a halo you can't go wrong with eather of them. They are both High quality hoppers. I would not reccamend a egg though. Way to many problems with them.
