organise scenario paintball.

How woudl one go about holding a scenario event?

Who'se permission would i have to get?

how old do i have to be to organise it?

what would i need to get in terms of equipment?

what would the overhead be like?

how many people would i have to be sure of getting before thinking about orginising it?

how big an area of land would i need to find, what kind of land is best, woodlands or a mixture?

how long should it last?

I'm 16 and i've never been to a scenario event, but i have a knack for organisation.

woud prolly plan for late summer next year

Your going to need to find the interest in your area to hold on of these events. It takes alot of time to plan and setup.

Your going to need permission from a land owner if you do not own the land your using.

Age doesnt really matter as long as you can organize it well, promote it, make it a safe and succesful game

what would i need to get in terms of equipment?
Scenario stuff like cannons and land mine, grenades. Any of these can be brought on the field as long as it is safe to use.

what would the overhead be like?
not sure what ya mean here....

how many people would i have to be sure of getting before thinking about orginising it?
I organized one of thes for a weekend long event, we planned for 50 people and quickly had 100 entries so a cut off date is a must here.

how big an area of land would i need to find, what kind of land is best, woodlands or a mixture?
For the even I host we had 7 acres of woods and about 3 of grassland. depending on # of players and land layout you need to judeg for yourself on the amount of land needed to be a succesful event

how long should it last?
At least one 10 hour scenario or two 8 hour scenarios over two days, depends on how much work you want to have.

Feel free to shoot me anything more i would be glad to help you out, also where you from?

cheers, that al really usedful. I live in England btw making me .... British lol. Paintball isn't as big over here as it is in the states. It still just seen as a bit of 'fun' rather than a sport.

Actually a scenario I went was a one day 8 hour scenario. It was a very well organised vietnam based scenario, and it was so fun for only being 8 hours, so it doesn;t have to be long to be good. A short game encourages getting points by any means possible, none of this, "Oh, we go lots of time, we'll make up the points later". But thats just me, Long games are also fun because you have time to strategically plot out what you want to do.

anyone where i can find some like storylines to base the scenario on? I 'd prefer to see one that's been written by someone who knows what they're doing before i start on my own.
