Fun stuff, huh? I've always loved martial arts. I just started back up with karate/jujitsu after taking off 5 months to do boxing. It's weird how once you learn it, more or less it stays with you forever. Or perhaps it's because I've been doing it for like 7 years...

Either way, it's really fun. Keep up the work, don't get discouraged, and trust me it all pays off in the end.

whats the difference between jujitsu and brazilian jujitsu?
i always wondered that....
Jiu Jitsu is a Japanese martial art that uses throws, grappling, joint lock techniques, and basic strikes.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu empasizes ground grappling and the whole idea is to advance your position until you can lock in a submission. The skills of Jiu Jitsu were modified to use less strength and to be more effective against larger opponents.

8 years of Shotokan for me, but I only have my 2nd brown.

Good karate discipline, but it moves very slow.

Sweet, I've only gotten my blue belt in Shuri Ryu. Only been going since August, but it's awesome.

Karate usually is pretty slow, but focuses more on power. Do you spar much? That's pretty fast paced.

I took a karate class a few times when I was little, than when I got older I started taking defensive shooting classes. I don't need martial arts when I carry a gun. Though, I wouldn't mind learning a combonation of Judo and Aikido.
