I will soon be playing my first game of paintball

I have a tippmann A5. I will be playing in a tree belt type thing. Do you veteran players have any tips for a noob so that I can save myself from getting horribly mutilated by the other more experienced players? Any help will be appreciated.

right here is the best advice for a new player....

DONT BE AFRAID TO GET HIT

thats all that needs to be said. when you are playing in your games and hiding behind one of the last bunkers, scared to **** of getting hit by a paintball, just remember, it stings for a few seconds, and thats all. stand up, go out, and tag out some dudes. you wont have fun if you are afraid to get hit
^Definitely^

Fire in bursts, don't EVER count on one ball to hit or even break on a player.

Aggression, many times pure aggression will serve you better than caution, learning when to use which is a large part of paintball success.

Last, but not least, spatial awareness. Make sure your body is totally covered behind a bunker, don't get out for something dumb likea hopper or elbow etc. sticking out of cover.
Ya....dont be afraid of getting hit. Move around. If someone isnt directly shooting at you...move to another bunker.

And like coene said..just be aware of your suroundings. Thats the number 1 way i get noobs out lol, them not being aware that I can see thier arm or leg....you need to always make sure your tucked behind a bunker
But we won't be playing using bunkers or anything, we are playing behind my friends house where he has a huge tree belt. I need advice for that kind of playing. Sorry for not giving you guys enough information.
if your werring one of those military jackets will it still hurt?
It doesn't really hurt to get shot, I let my friends shoot me all the time and it just stings for a few seconds. If you wear a military jacket it will still sting but it's nothing that you should worry about. The sting is just something you have to deal with and most experienced players start to feel just the hit with no sting. I hope i answered your question.
yea, im not worried about the sting, i was just wondering.
it will always hurt unles you wrap yourself in bubble paper. It just hurts to a certain degree.

Ill be honest...some people cant take the pain as well as others. it all depends on you. That will also decide how agressive of a player you are. You cant be thinking about getting hit...you just gotta think about playing the game.

"Bunker" is more of just a common term for whatever cover you may be using. The whole spatial awareness thing is still very important.

Here's another good idea, if you are advancing slowly, towards an objective and there is chance of being ambushed alwyas look ahead for a place to go if someone starts shooting at you. This way, even if the other guy has the drop on you, you don't waste that extra split-second looking for somewhere to go. It also keeps you from getting behind inadequate cover.
Don't confuse "not being afraid" and "being aggresive" with blindly moving forward when ppl in the back are yelling "move up." That's a sure fire way to get yourself eliminated early.

If anything, I would say hang back for the first few games so you can see what is going on. Hang back and hang on the flank and wait for opportunities to present themselves.

You'll find your own style of play, go with what feels comfortable.

if u get hit in say the arm when u are running to a different bunker dont stop right ther and check it. run behing like a tree and check it. it may sound stupid but i made that mistake the first time i played
OK guys, I played my first game EVER and it was awesome. Although I only hit one person, it was still a great time and hopefully I will do better next time. Thanks for the tips, they helped alot. Keep posting noob tips in here freely.
