About 3-4 months ago I ordered about 20$ worth of paintball stuff off the internet. The site looked pretty reliable and it had good deals.Stuff was suppose to come in a week but never did. I called about a month later and they said that the stuff was out of stock and they said to wait a week. So I waited a week and it didnt come so I waited one more week and called again and nobody answers. So I email them and get no answer. A while later I call and the phone numbers doesnt work anymore, the dont respond to emails, and the site doesnt work anymore. Is there any way I can get my money back? Its not a lot but I would still like to have it back.

no. when you order, look for a small padlock in the lower right corner of the window (it only shows up as you are putting in personal info). that's how you can tell if it is legit or not. no padlock = buttrape

and no, i highly doubt you'll be able to get your money back. sorry dude.

you can reverse look up the phone number if it was a landline. check www.411.com
also they should have sent you a receipt of payment via email. check for address. also keep this if you have it (print it out or something)

did you use your credit card to order? if you did call the credit card company tell them you got ripped, they will investigate. if they charged you on your credit card, you should be able to get an address.

contact the better business bureau http://www.bbbonline.com/
also check out the webpolice site http://www.web-police.org/
here is a site on internet fraud http://www.fraud.org/internet/intinfo.htm

if you really want to bring the pain:
fbi's internet fraud complaint center http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/cf1.asp
and finally if no one in the above links are helping you
look for your attorney general http://www.eatoncounty.org/prosecutor/proslist.htm also look up the attorney general for the state the the web store is located and contact them.

you are not screwed yet. but you need to act quickly.

it is possible that this store has gone bankrupt during the process, in that case you are a creditor and they owe you which is why you should find out their address and contact the better business bureau. if this is NOT a legit store, then you are a victim of fraud and you should pursue legal action via the FBI site, attorney general and webpolice sites.

OH, btw contact your local authorities and try to get in touch with authorities in the store's location.

not having a receipt is bad, it would really help if you had some type of proof of purchase...did u pay with credit card? that will count as proof. call ur credit card company, make sure they actually charged you for the $20, otherwise no harm was done (might want to file complaint to BBB anyway).

call the number tell them your looking for "NAME OF DUDE FROM 411.com" at "NAME OF STORE YOU BOUGHT FROM"

the person u talking too will have 2 possible answers:
1. Ya, that's right this is "NAME OF THE STORE". Bam!, tell them your situation. Either they will be nice and explain the situation you and work things out with you OR they gonna be bastards about it. Either way it's ok. If they are unwilling to resolve the situation, you still have their address and name and you can proceed to contact the Better Business Bureau and all the other places i said, filing complaints about the business.

2. The person says "no this is not 'NAME OF STORE' you have the wrong number". IF you got the number that u used to reverse on 411.com was from your call display, then they are obviously lying since you got their number from call display. IF you didn't get the number from call display, and you got it from their website or an email, then explain your situation to that person (nicely) and tell them you are filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and to the authorities and you or the authorities may need to contact them again.

So the key here is to file complaints anyway. But call the number and see what happens.

Also, you may want to record your phone conversation with the other party.
