I agree, I think we should worry about Korea. I think we should start to wrap things up, and not just leave. You also have a good point by saying if we havn't made any major advances by June, then let's leave. It's costing us too many soldiers, and it is pissing off the world. This is turning into another Vietnam.

we cant just leave it tho. we have to finished what weve started. according to the prez and such, they hope to have an established (U.S. backed oviously) iraqi ran government in a few months. and give it a few years and they should be a pretty well suited nation. look at japan, kuwait, s. korea, germany, and other countries we built, they turn out great, i expect the same from iraq. and we will never leave. we will always have troops stationed there (as we do everywhere else around the world). i expect the worst to be over in around 6months

as for N Korea, we are dealing with them, and have been for 50-60 years. they wont do jack crap, they are just flexing their stupid little communist muscles. communism doesnt work, its been proven. they will fall in time, either by us, or by themselves.

I agree that we should go to North Korea, but if we just leave abruptly, Iraq will not be any better than when it started and instead of Saddam Hussein, a new dictator will get into power, and we'll have to go in all over again. Instead of just leaving by June 30th, we should simply begin to gradually withdraw our troops. Don't ease up on places like Fallujah and Ramadi, along with hometowns of influential, uncooperating clerics. Start removing a few troops at a time from the more peaceful places that haven't killed or attacked any of our men for a while. Instead of totally withdrawing, slowly back out, make sure the new government is good, set up a really good police force to replace American soldiers, and then crack down hard on insurgents. As soon as it's relatively peaceful, and most of the insurgents have stopped fighting, or are dead or captured, we can start moving out there in larger groups. I also suggest switching some of the soldiers in Fallujah, and violent cities, with the ones in peaceful towns, so the troops who were fighting can go home faster. Remember, these soldiers need some rest before we invade North Korea, as North Korea might become an all-out war, as they are still pretty pissed off about last time we were there. To idiots like tippmannut: There are millions of very peaceful people in Iraq, who like the United States, and hate Saddam and the insurgents in Iraq. You only hear about the bad ones because the liberal media wants to continuously criticize President Bush. They also don't realize that every time they report on American soldiers being killed, the insurgents laugh, think they are making progress, and kill some more. We need to stop the liberal media, but that's another essay. [/longest post i ever wrote]

You don't realize that this has ABSOLUTELY NO SIMILARITIES TO VIETNAM!!! Vietnam was mass slaughter, it was in jungles where we didn't know how to fight, and there were tens of thousands of troops killed. Here, we have about 600 troops killed, out of over 135,000!!! It's just that the media is making a huge deal out of it, which is just retarded.

i agree 100% with P4IN7 B4LLS, that was a good post.

even if we havnt made much advances by june, we cant just leave, cuz the same thing will happen, and than we would have just wasted a lot of time, money, and lives. plus if we leave now people will think that we are just attacking other countries for the hell of it.. and not actually trying to get anything done.

edit-although not many people on this forum can vote, i agree:

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that John Kerry (y'know, that idiot running for President) recently said that he would pull all our troops out of Iraq, and visit Iran and other middle-eastern countries to apologize for Bush's actions, all within the first 100 days of his presidency. Vote Bush people!!!

EDIT: Regarding Biased Media: http://forums.delphiforums.com/BushActivist/messages?msg=5449.1 The only unbiased (and maybe slightly conservative ;)) news network I know of is Fox News Channel.

Yea.. .I guess we can't just pull the hell out. Be we need to let our military go. I don't like this "attacking our troops while they're trying to liberate you" **** at all.

North Korea is the greater of the two evils shall we say. The problem with Iraq is that the after-war casualities have exceeded those of the war. I say we pull out soon. The people don't want our help, and if they want to go on killing each other and not living in peace, let them do it.

Onto North Korea. Technically, we can go to war with them anytime we so feel the desire...as an armistice is just a cease fire. Technically, we've been at war with Korea for 54 years. But these are all technicalities. I think we should let the rest of the world help us on that though, as we could NOT take on North Korea alone. Absolutely no way. The problem with Korea, though, is China will step in the second soldiers set foot on the Korean peninsula. So, we need a coalition (Germany, Russia, France, Britain, Spain, Australia) to even THINK about going after North Korea.

We can't do that, that's just cruel to the dead, and you're totally forgetting the reason we went in in the first place. It'll just happen again, and we'll have to go in again, and lose another 600 men. Frankly, that's just stupid.

our country is in a position where if we do 1 thing, we are crictisized, and we if we do the other thing, we are crictisized. no matter what we will have political backlash happening. we have to just sort through whats better for us and most of the world. we just have to do what we have to do. kerry is just an idiot. there were better democratic runners out there, i dont see how he got chosen.... but w/e

Not scrap them..they know what they died for. All of them. It's a part of the army lifestyle. I'm saying, pull most out so that we don't have to lose 650 more. Seriously, my friends over thre even agree we need to pull out. It's been too long without any headway, and it's not working out.

I just hope Bush stays put. We can't be switching presidents now.

EDIT:

Prophet! We can't just end it. A new dictator will rise and we'll start this again in 10 years.
