Hey I played a bit when I was younger but I would still kinda consider myself a noob so I just wanted to ask a few questions. I picked up a tippmann model 98 for 20 bucks. I got myself a 16" J&J barrel and I have a collapsible stock and a 12 oz tank... Oh and a simple grav fed hopper. I was looking into getting an expansion chamber and a camo suit.

Do you guys think this is a good setup for a "sniper" aka back player. I would get HPA but my city has no local SCUBA store or anyplace that can fill a high psi tank. Also I have 2 workshop grade compressors> Is it possible at all to make this work to fill an N2 tank (I kno that seems like a stretch but I kno that air is 78% Nitrogen) We also have air driers on these compressors. They are 50 gallon tanks that run at like CFM @ 125 PSI.

Any tips, strategies, and ideas to boost my setup would be much appreciated.. THX Panik

Your setup is fine the only things I'd suggest would be skipping the expansion chamber and buying a Palmer's stabilizer instead and replacing the gravity hopper with a powered hopper. If you are going to be stuck with CO2 you may as well make the most of it and a Stabilizer will make sure you get the most you can out of CO2.

And for the compressors, you will not be able to fill a 4500psi tank, or even a 3000psi tank wit ha compressor that only put out 125psi

Garage compressors usually output wet and dirty air too, so I wouldn't even try doing it

Yah I thought the N2 tanks ran at lower psi... After I posted I checked it and saw that but forgot to reply....

By stabilizer did you mean like a regulator? Or could you post a link to a stabilizer for a Tippmann m98

Edit... nvm I found Palmers stabilizer thx ill look into buying one... So a stabilizer should give me more consistency then? And since I'm planning on playing in cold temps as well should I do both because I don't wanna be shootin snowflakes u kno?

Stabilizers improve consistency and keep liquid CO2 out better than an expansion chamber ever could so you only need the stab. I'd order direct through Palmers they also sell the hardware for mounting them so you can get everything all at once.

ooooo you have the old 98.... its not fun to put an e-grip in it then. You have to shave off material and stuff, its a big hassle. So forget about that, just keep the mech trigger.

Alright so http://www.palmer-pursuit.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9_28&products_id=974

Then for a hopper obviously there's the halo loaders etc. I wanted something that would get the hopper out of the way... I'd love a longbow feeder but It looks like they don't sell a kit for the 98. I've also seen the qloader but I've seen many ppl trolling on that and It also takes the place of the foregrip which I actually like to have. Any systems you know of that get rid of the big bubble hopper for a decent price?

Well I wouldn't debate the value of a halo loader but I was asking for a different system, a low profile feeder.

Not really. Some small custom shops make springfeeds or you could look into pickup up a Warp feed.

i dont' know why you keep saying that.
I say it because its the truth.

I guess I will tell you about the Halo's i've seen.

The one I bought: I bought it brand new and it never worked right. When board was backwards programed. When the eyes say paint the the breach it spun the loader (its not suppose to) when the eyes didn't see paint, the loader would stop. It was so messed up. I took it apart to see if the connections were backwards but they weren't. Switched them anyway and the loader wouldn't work at all.

My teammates HAlO: His halo would randomly shut its self off. In the middle of a game he suddenly couldn't shoot and would realize his hopper was off (new batteries).

General Halos I've seen at fields: Cracked bodies (common with all hoppers), hard to take apart compared to new hoppers, eyes constantly need cleaning (mine obviously needed it daily), battery doors broken, eye wires getting pinched when putting back together (it is a pain to do), and i could go on and on.

Compared to my Velocity Jr: I've owned 2 (still have both, got the second for free with gun purchase) I have yet to take apart a velocity Jr to clean the eyes because... I've never HAD TO!! The shell of my 4 year old Jr. Is starting to get beat up pretty bad but no battery door problems or neck problems (the lid is falling apart). My newer Jr (2 years old) has yet to break a ball inside of it (or even be taken apart), and this is being used in tourny play.

Okay now that i'm done with my Halo rant....

Look into the AGD Warp Feed system. One of the best untraditional feeding systems. I've heard the Q-loader is fast as heck but limiting you # of paintballs.

I've heard some bad things of the older halo's (Over all good ones) but the Invert Too IMO is immaculate. But the torques are selling for under 60 bucks now I got one on ebay new for 47$ shipped.

It has its own mounting hardware there is a sort of plate that goes between the gripframe and your ASA. You put a regular hopper on top of the warp system and then run the included hose from the warp to the feedneck on your marker. I've got a warp system and it's pretty neat I don't use it all the time but it is fun to mess around with and most people have never seen one before.
