I am entering Virginia Tech this fall as an engineering major and one of their requirements is a tablet PC.

For the most part, I consider myself computer literate but I have no idea what a tablet PC is. So far my reasearch has only led me to the conclusion that you can use them like a note book... IE.. fold them up and write on them.

Other than this... how do they perform? Same as a normal laptop? Can they handle the same type of gaming that I would have normally? Can I rig them up to use a mouse?

I really have 0 knowledge on tablet PC's and any enlightenment you have would be great.

Thanks

you are correct about the concept.

yes, the perform like a laptop. when you unfold in theres a normal keyboard and everything. to get it into a tablet, you just twist the screen.

yes, mouse will work.

its just like a normal laptop, but with a twistable screen.
