Is ACT worth the extra 20 dollars? How often does a ball chop and I was using a rental model 98 and didnt know if it had ACT

It is if your not going to use a cyclone feed, agitating hopper, or force feed.

Most of the newer rentals that were used at the park I worked at had the Anti-chop bolt in them, but for various reasons we would replace them with the original hammer and bolt set up. (try maintaining 300+ rental 98s and add 3 extra parts to each)

In my personal 98c I never really had a problem with chopped balls but it has had more custom work on it then what I have in my sig.

Things that I found to cause a ball to chop was a bad ball de-dent or paint that was too old or brittle. Most rec grade paint works fine in a 98, but most "tournament" grade will be too brittle and break in the marker even with ACT.
