at speeds of around 80+ you would benefit from haveing a wing. (it helps keep your rear-end from dancing around). Most all of the spoilers you see on production cars really have no purpose aside from looks

That car prolly actually has the aerodynamics (sp?) to do in the mid 100s without need of a wing, it prolly comes into effect morea round 160 or so. Not too sure but I think that "2nd" wing is to redirect some air towards those 'gills' over the engine (trunk) not toos ure though.

spoilers increase drag, acting like the opposite of an aircraft wing (which creates lift)... it gives the driver more control at high speeds

Yupp PBnebie69 is right, as air flows over a wing, it creates downforce (pushing down on the wing) which pushes the rear of the car towards the ground, giving more control once the air begis to flow against/around the wing at a certain speed.

90% of the cars you see with wings, never use'em.....
