Theres mainly two things you can do. You can get an on-off valve(which cuts off the pressure from your airsource to your gun when turned off), or unscrew your tank 3/4 of the way off fire a few times, then take your tank off and there shouldn't be any pressure left and your o-ring won't break.

Take the tank off slowly. As soon as you start to hear a hiss, fire the marker. This will make the majority of escaping CO2 to go thru the gun and not past the Oring. Also you dont experience oring problems with HPA, I just wanted to throw that out there as well.
