So I haven't gone paintballing in a while now. Got a job, realized how hard it is to earn enough money to go paintballing, and finally realized that after every time I go my acne flares up(I guess I was in denial before). I was never one to have much acne, luckily, but it seems as after every time I go it gets worse. Since I've stopped going it's almost gotten better and nothing new has popped up. Kinda sucks to think my favorite hobby causes it, but it's just not worth it anymore.

Obviously it's from the sweat/mask mixture, but I can't really think of a solution. If you don't sweat, you're not doing it right, so I guess this is the end of my paintball career for a while. Will probably sell my stuff anyway since I only have one year left here, get ready for a sale!

That sucks to hear about the acne. However, I know what you mean about the work issue. When I was working, I had all the money to play but no time, now that I am unemployed I have no money to play. :(

What gear did you have? You should just give it to me. I was asked to possibly supply a church youth group with gear in a few weeks. I think I will need 4 or 5 sets. I have that many for them, but then I wouldn't be able to play, so if you give me your set I could play. :dodgy: Just kidding

But you had the Ego 11 if I remember correctly?

Were you serious about the church group? because paintball would be an expensive sport to play for them, but that would possibly be the best church group.. ever.

And I'm probably just gonna sell it as I can probably get quite a bit from it. Basically as much as I'm gonna make this ENTIRE summer from my job.

Working 3-4 days a week for 6 hours at minimum wage, I'm making about $150 a week... sucks.

You could try using face wipes between games. Sucks, I know, but if it's worth it to you...
Maybe, but in 90+ degree heat running around like I do, I doubt it will help much, but I'll give it a try thanks.

I used to have that problem, until I started scrubbing my face after every day of play. All this stuff will pass in time. It might be in your best interest to keep your gear incase you want to get back into it later.
I figure I'll keep my secondary setup and just get rid of the expensive stuff, I pretty much have 3 of everything anyway. I do scrub my face as soon as I get home but it still gets really really bad after I go, and acne sucks.

if it's really that bad, it maybe worth a trip to the dermatologist
I have a dermatologist I go to every couple months, my acne only started about a year ago(really late) and never had anything before it. Nothing new appears except when I go paintballing, which is why I'm avoiding it now. Wondering if it has something to do with the i4's even though they are clean, because I biked like 15 miles the other day and nothing happened.

Perhaps some sort of allergic reaction to the foam?
Maybe? But I would think an allergic reaction would cause hives, not acne lol. I've been paintballing for years though and it has only been happening for a few months. Damn hormones.

I was serious about the church group playing. Its a small groupabout 8 to 10. And several of them have their own gear. I used to order them paint all the time, using the small bulk paint deals everybody had. I would buy 4-6 cases about every 2 weeks. Ahh, the good ol'days.:)

I really never understood the value of money until I got this job... I was never an out of control spender but I definitely didn't realize how hard it is to earn a dollar.

Making what I do now.. it takes like 10 hours of work to afford a case of paint near me... and that's if I'm taking home every penny I earn, not including tax, gas, etc.

WAL, how old are you? Acne problems usually start to fade by the time you're 19 or 20. I never knew anyone with severe issues, but are you having breakouts where the mask foam rubs, or is it mostly everywhere?

Mostly where the foam is, but a little bit everywhere which I figure is because the sweat literally is like a waterfall down my face when we're outside in the hot sun at 90+*. And it's really not severe, and never has been, but after every time I go a bunch of new stuff pops up, which is a bad bad feeling the day after paintball.

I'm 17. :dodgy:

Hah...call me a late bloomer - but my Acne issues didn't start up until about...oh... 26?

Proactive is magical - and while it may make you feel like less of a man while using it, the $30 overpriced bottle put an end to the woes.

WaL's seeing an actual doctor about this, so he's probably following a different regiment..but for those who aren't...Little gem of knowledge - Toothpaste...or straight proactive applied directly to a starting zit will assist in drying it out. Best if performed before bed, slept with on, and washed off the following morning (if it doesn't rub off in the pillow that night)
