i took it off to sand and polish the sear, and now when im playing it keeps wanting to get loose, so i have to keep tightening the screws, its very annoying. any way i can make the screws stay in place
just did the polishing job that they had on ottersccustoms.com and i sanded everything it said, and one of those tihngs was the top of the sear. so i did
Teflon tape and/or Blue Loctite should be in your tool box at all times. And Otter just says to lightly sand the top part of the sear (not enough to take wear it away or round it off). You need to sand a little to smooth it out to work in the polish, it wont harm it if you do it right. If you do it to much your going to have recocking issues with the sear and stricker timing along with dwell problems.
