proper way to tune the reg on a blowback?

Ok I am just wondering, what is the proper way to tune the reg on a blowback? Do you start with the hardest or softest main spring? I am just looking to find out how to get my reg set to the optimum pressure.

ps: I have an Evil Detonator on a PMI Evo.
