Should I get a regulator or a expansion chamber for my spyder tlx? I already bought a dead on 8 core expansion chamber, but I have not installed it yet, so I can return it if yall think I should. I dont want to spend more than $40. should I just stick with what I have?

if you use co2 then an expansion chamber is fine, just keep the one you got.

but if you use nitro i suggest a regulator. exp. chambers dont do anything with Nitro.

no it will work fine without one and it wouldnt "suck bad". the spyder has a rudimentary regulator built into the gun. thats how they control velocity........

anyway for that kind of price, if your using CO2 keep the expanson chamber. if your using nitro save up a little bit more and get something nice like a palmers stabalizer

imo get a reg for either. palmers stabilizer works well for co2 and hpa, but if you have hpa now get a cp reg.

reg

My first upgrade for my TL was a Bob Long Torpedo. It made a huge difference in the consistency. I would highly reccomend it to any Spyder owner.

"imo get a reg for either. palmers stabilizer works well for co2 and hpa, but if you have hpa now get a cp reg." I have a palmer, it works so much better then any expansion chamber and is one of the better regulaters for a desent price. I spent several hours reserching and weighing prices. I chose it because of all the happy owners and the company's very good overall reputation, and I would have to say I am among them.

heh, all I own are spyders two of them to be exact... they will also fit on most every other gun that has the same threads (standerd ASA if you want to know). I think it filters out the liquid good enough to run co2 on somthing like a autococker without any problems.

i've heard its not the best for hpa, but it will work. B/c its designed for co2 i suppose. You could sell the palmers and pick up a nice torpedo or cp or gladiator or some other reg for hpa..

With the 23* spring kit with the two lightest springs(valve and main spring) I can run at ~400psi with no shootdown, but to be shooting 280fps you will need to be at a higher pressure.
