Well, I'm looking at getting a reg for my 98 Custom and saw the palmers stabilizer. I have a few questions about it:
1.Can I use that with my 98 with a HPA tank or can I not get a reg because I have to have a low pressure kit?

2.I know I would have to get a vertical adapter but what version of the palmers stabilizer would fit in teh VA?

3.Last are there any other regs I should look into for my 98 instead

I searched but couldn't find the info I needed.

EDIT: I also have another question which is off topic but does the pen spring mod make it lighter if you have an e-grip.

!. Yes you can cause the Stabilizer is omni gas
2. The male one
3. Custom Products would be a good if your going to switch to HPA

4ish. It may help but I have yet to mess with any of the e-gripped 98s

Since I will probably be getting the reg once I get HPA then a CP sounds good.

Also I just did the pen spring mod and it is lighter but not as smooth return.

But I think a CP reg only goes to 600psi. That might not be enough for a Tippy. Palmer has a Stabilizer model that goes to 850psi. I would make sure you get that one.

I have gotten my 98 to reliably operate at 350 PSI off HPA and crono at 280fps

EDIT
How ever an unpolished out of the box 98 might be closer to ~500-700 psi to operate the gun reliably and at 280fps

I run my 98 off a HPA tank at 850psi. Chrono at about 285. Want closer to 300 but it has spikes. My air adjustment screw isn't in a lot but I'm not realy sure how far it is. Now you have me curious. Could put my EXT reg on my 98 and see.. : )

Could I use a PMI reg? It's only 30 bucks and goes from 200-800 PSI. Or is it really crappy and un-reliable? Or a Dead On reg which is 0-800. Can those fit in a VA?
Also can someone PM me a link to a VA that accepts regs.

Any regulator with normal male threading will attach into the VA.

The part is just called the Tippmann vertical adaptor. It comes with the expansion chamber kit, and is also sold seperate. We're only supposed to post links to xpaintball.com because they pay the bills here, but they should have it in their upgrades section and many other stores should as well.

If you're going to flame, do it when the thread is actually active, not a week later.

If he wants to buy a reg, who cares? He can use it on his next gun.

But if you're (thread starter) still reading this, I wouldn't waste any money on the LP system if I were you.

if you're not wasting money on the LPK then there is no need to WASTE money on a reg

It isnt a waste of money at all. Like big_balla said, he can use that reg on any gun he buys in the future. It isn't completely useless either. It can help a little bit with consistancy even if you have HPA.

You dont know everything, so don't act like it.
