I started paintballin this year so i'm a noob, i bought a spyder fenix, halo tsa on top, upgraded with acs delrin bolt. I'm wanting to get a better barrel and really like carbon fiber. Which is better for my set up, a stiffi or a j&j. I'm figuring on getting a 14". The paint i have been using is crappy monster balls, i know they suck bad, but that about all i can get ahold of. I life in the middle of nowhere, and wal-mart only carries monsters.

To my knowledge, J&J doesn't make a CF barrel, so if you want CF, you'd have to choose Stiffi. If I were in your shoes, I'd get a J&J, they're cheap, good quality, shoot through breaks great, and it's not worth IMO spending the money for a Stiffi on a low end marker like a Fenix, that if you really get serious about playing, you'll just be upgrading to something better in a year or so, possibly sooner.

Nope, nothing wrong with them. And if you just continue to play casually, it will be more than sufficient for years. BUT, if you start to want to play tournaments and such, you'll end up upgrading it to something better.

Agreed, if it was cocker threaded i'd say go ahead and get a stiffi if you can afford it but spyder threads aren't used in higher end markers. Stick with a J&J, you'll be fine.

i wish i could play in a tourny, but i live in western kansas, i would imagine the closest place would be denver, and thats about 4 hours away. thanks for the advice though, there is a stiffi on ebay for dirt cheap but i doubt i get it, i'll prolly get a j&j.
