Well, at a church retreat (how ironic, hardy-har-har) I was walking across a field and some guy trying to catch a frisbee slams into my back. He hit me, I spun around, and then slammed the back of my head pretty hard into the ground. When I tried to get up, my legs weren't working, and as the pain in my head slowly dissipated, I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I panicked and called my small group leader and they came, and by that time my legs were worthless and my right leg was completely numb. There happened to be a Chiropractor at the camp, and my small group leader called me. He got there, and then he panicked because he thought I was completely paralized from the waist down. The called the Paramedics and they got me on a stretcher and all that fun ****.

I sat on the bed in the hospital for four hours before I could faintly feel the blanket rubbing against my legs, and 5 hours passed before I could move my legs at all. Half an hour later, I was able to walk and had nearly full feeling in my legs.

Scary **** man, all the doctors thought I was paralyzed until the [incredibly] slow ER got to take some X-rays of my chest. Basically, my weekend sucked. I also caught a nasty cold, and got 5 hours of sleep in the last 3 days.

TL;DR: I was paralyzed temporarily from the waist down and it was scary.

What did it feel like? This is semi-interesting.
nothing. I was completely numb on my right leg, and I could faintly feel down to about my knee on my left.

Other than that, the back pain.

holy ****. I would have been freaking out

yeah.. it was weird. I couldn't see **** because of the neck stabilizer, so I wasn't really afraid... there was a little nagging fear in the back of my mind, but it was mostly how much this would change my life if I actually was paralyzed. I was surprisingly calm, not sure why.

Paramedics are real nice, I like how they tell you everything theyre gonna do before they do it. They work real hard on keeping your mind off of the fact you're completely immobilized in an ambulance going 70 mph.

my weekend rocked, i'm sorry you werent as lucky haha, but you definitely had quite an interesting experience.

For me my weekend went-

Friday: Drinking from 9:30 pm to 4:30-5ish am (not hardcore, just enough to keep me drunk the whole time by drinking more when I felt it wear of)
Saturday: Huge birthday party at my friends house, 15-20 people there, super smash brothers melee tournaments out the yin-yang (singles and doubles), a big fire, a few beers, lots of laughs.
Sunday-work, left early, talked to my girl and decided that I'm going to visit her sooner than we first planned, and then visit her again in december for her mini-prom thing (she lives in montana)...sweet.

I've never heard of a "free" ride in an ambulance. unless you have insurance to cover it all. even then, you might have to pay a deductible
