I was really thinking about buying an older used one, 1 because it would be worn in, and 2 it would be cheaper. But my question now is if i should buy a used one of a new 2001 modle

The new ones have several advantages over the old ones but also some minor draw backs. First the positive....

Quick threaded 12 gram changer. The old one takes MANY more rotations to remove the cartridge
Quick PB feed filler. The old one is much slower to reload PBs
Slightly longer barrel. This "might" make the gun slightly more accurate.
Easy to work on. Some of the older ones require a special tool to remove the valve whereas the new one can be completely disassembled with common tools.

For the bad....
Plastic front and rear site/feed tube caps. The older one was all metal.
Paint overspray in front inch or two of barrel
Defective hole placement for air going to the barrel. It's too far forward in some of the newer ones and causes a lot of PB barrel breaks.

I would go with the newer one if you have a choice. The paint overspray is easy to remove by polishing and the air hole problem, if yours has that problem, can be solved by purchasing a Cooper-T bolt or by modifying the stock one to push the PB forward.
You would likely end up paying less for the new one even with a new bolt since you would probably want to buy the quick changers for the older model.
