I don't care what you have to say or whether you have seen it before. This brought a tear to my eye and reminds me that we really need to support the men overseas AND there families at home.

on my way home from orlando to view a flight school a year and a half ago there were guys coming home from afganistan. I had free tickets from delta because I was going to there school. I was in business class (grade above 1st) and saw several men in uniform getting on. a flight attendent asked over the intercom if anyone was willing to give up the upper class seats. I couldn't volunteer fast enough. I sat next to a man who was from omaha nebraska and was coming home to his wife and a child who he hadn't gotten to meet yet. My heart still goes to him. any time you think you can hate on america or think our government sucks just remember. those are regular people overseas doing extrodinary things. they don't worry about themselves they get the job done so they can come home to there families.

Very well put. I am in the Air Force and thank you for what you did. All too often people forget who protects their rights. Thank you for caring.

Haven't seen that vid yet. Not much text but it delivers a powerful message. ITs too bad that not more people feel the same way towards our military that you guys do.

My father is a Vietnam vet. I give lots of respect and love for him for what he had to do. When ever I see someone not stand in homeroom for the flag salute or not salute it I get kinda angry. One time there was a moment of silence on Veterans Day and this one kids did a fake cry to try to be funny. It pissed me off s0o much you have no idea. How could you show disrespect like that?

today was rather ironic/interiesting.

first i read this thread, wound up thinkin about that vid all day, mainly cause of the song.

then at the beginning of fourth i hear on the announcments about anybody interiested in info on west point should come to the cafeteria.

minuites later one of our own west point cadets shows up in my room, a girl i knew decently well back in the day. she's a junior(cow) this year.

i have so much respect for those in our armed forces. I only wish that i could follow in the footsteps of our these great people. However i know i probably never will be able to due to phyiscal reasons(primarily vision). if it came down to them accepting people like me, i would join in a heartbeat.

I salute all of our armed forces.

okay okay so ironic isn't really the correct word, but who gives a damn? silly canadians. but just for D i will rephrase

i found it to be rather odd that i was moved by this thread, having it later brought back to my attention as a result of a visit from a current student at West Point that i have known.

good enough?

My history teacher is a Vietnam vet. Sometimes in class when we are studing the 60's and the war he just kind of gazes off. If you ask about it he will say stuff, but he will be really quiet the rest of the class periode, whenever those memories come back to him its like he is instantly different. When we watched a movie about nam with real footage he sorta started tearing up and had to look away. Poor guy, i give him tons of respect for what he did though.

inspeaking of Vietnam-War Syndrome. This one guy that lived down the street from my friend had it. One day on the Fourth of July, he freaked out because he thought we were being bombed by the VC, (fireworks). Poor guy, hes been through hell...
